How does a power of attorney terminate?

Generally a power of attorney terminates if you revoke it in writing or when you die, however your power of attorney may have provisions in it regarding termination upon divorce from your spouse, or potentially termination if you are disabled or incapacitated. It's important to read your power of attorney to understand whether or not these provisions are in it.
